There are a number of relatively inexpensive and effective methods for reducing radon concentrations in buildings. These include:

• Installing sumps under floors and blowing the radon gas out to the atmosphere.
• Improving the ventilation in the building to prevent radon accumulation.
• Pressurising the building in certain circumstances.
• Re-testing afterwards is essential to ensure the radon has been succesfully reduced.
